Oh yeah! That's what I'm talkng about fellas! Thanks Great Scott. You guys rock. I'm very impressed by your continued checking of the messageboard. Picking up those hits means a lot to us fans. You should have seen Simon's face. I put him onto this last month and he was gobsmacked. Its raining like a bitch over here in the UK. has been for nealy two months. Between the rain, the umbrellas and all the tea I'm drinking it's getting a bit stereotypical. LOVED the Darwin Cook episode. I'm reading Year One (again) at the moment and have just finished The Sandman: Endlass Nights, which was patchy, but great when it was great (you know how it is).
Well Great Scott, that shout made my day. I teach primary school (year 3 - would that be your 3rd grade? 7 year olds). I am in a very good mood now and will be nice to the children.
By the way, you need to know that I listen to a whole mess of podcasts but only you guys have inspired me to do it myself. Cap Surly and his boy wonder Gary are going to record their first podcast next week. We are alt. music geeks to a level only seen on the four color cast. Bask in the glow that you guyts inspire.

I'm looking forward to hearing your alt. music show! I love finding new artists, so that will be right up my alley. Let us know when you guys get it up and running.
VH1 handles all the technical aspects of The Four Color Podcast, but he seems to think Libsyn is pretty easy to use. If you listen to a lot of podcast, you probably know who the provider is for you.
I asked my wife, who is a 3rd grade teacher, and she told me that her 3rd graders are probably your 4th graders because she thinks you guys start off with 1st grade, where we start with kindergarten. I don't know. I teach the big kids.
Hey, Cap, we really appreciate you spreading the word on us. You are no doubt our favorite fan! I know we're not supposed to play favorites, but you've gone above and beyond!
Thanks!
p.s. I love the Gladiator lines in your other comments.

Thanks Great Scott
It's nice to be anyone's favourite anything. We'll give you chaps a shout when we get our pod up and running. If I get stuck I'll ask VH1, (the greater of two geeks?)
Mrs Captain Surly loved the shout. She is proud of her captain. She says she preferred the old music and I concurr. Mrs Captain Surly is unimpeachable in matters of taste. We liked the fairground/radio city/carny air of the last theme.
On the topic of Marvel comix, I don't share your sense of divide (or VH1's disgust). I grew up on Marvel (Thor, Web of Spiderman, New Mutants etc) as Marvel was easier to get in the rainy NW of England when I was a kid in short pants. Spidey was always my boy but as I have come to a man's estate I have found Batman deeply satisfying in a dark-psyche kind of way. I am a big Alan Moore fan though, he is my true love in writer terms. From Hell, League of Xtraordinary gentleman etc. I cannot reccommend both volumes of Top Ten strongly enough.
Thanks for taking such an intrest Great Scott. You truly earn your name. And don't be bullied by the Man (or VH1). Keep true to "truebelievers!"
(a still rainy) Captain Surly

I would say that I am the great of the two geeks - and I feel that would make a great t-shirt.
Feel free to e-mail any podcasting questions to me at fourcolorpodcast@yahoo.com.
As for my disgust at Great Scott! torrid love affair with Marvel, my deep secret is that I was a huge X-Men fan as a lad. Also of the two of us, I have quite a collection of the early Marvel stuff.
X-Men, Avengers, Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man and my favorite the Fantastic Four.
I just like giving Great Scott! a hard time, keeps him in line!
Libsyn is the way to go for podcasting - very user friendly for beginners.

Excellent. Thanks VH1. I checked out Libsyn at your and Great Scott's reccommendation yesterday. Looks very user friendly and very affordable. That $5 a month is just £2.44 in the UK and so I'm in! I'll set up an account this week and watch this space you guys. If I run into any snags I'd be very grateful to email you. Thanks a bunch.
I did once see a Tee-shirt with a small bug and a bigger bug on it which read "The Greater of two weevils". That rocks. Also, an awesome techy shirt which said:
"There are 10 kinds of people. Those who read binary and those who don't".
Think about it.
